It is becoming obvious Lauren Claire loves shoes. Even shoes that are not hers.
Whenever we go to a store, we avoid walking by the shoe isle because she will immediately recognize the shoes and want to buy a pair. If we go by the shoe isle without buying her a pair, we risk a colossal temper tantrum because she did not get a new pair of shoes. She is only 18 months old and already has 5 pairs. She really only wears one pair on a regular basis though, they are pink Princess shoes.
Lauren has a preference for pink shoes, and she sure is her fathers little Princess. It is very difficult to say no to a new pair of shoes for my little princess.
When we take Lauren to the indoor park at Jordan Creek Mall she goes around the park and picks up other kids shoes and tries them on. We have to watch her closely so she does not do this.
Tonight when I came home from work, she was walking around the kitchen with one of Brayton's shoes on. Several times each day, she will walk over to where ever there are shoes sitting around and put her feet into them.
Tonight, after changing out of my work clothes, I came downstairs to Lauren putting her feet into my black work shoes. I couldn't resist the photo opportunity, so I helped her get both feet into my shoes and snapped this photo of my very smiley little princess.
Lauren and Brayton stayed at our home while Mommy went scrapbooking (and had a little special time with other women who love to scrapbook) at the Twin Lakes Bible Camp. Lauren did show how much she loved shoes because she managed to put on Brayton's and parade around. While Brayton, Daddy, Grandpa Gordon and Uncle Nick went pheasant hunting, Lauren and Grandma Cindy walked down to Great Grandparent Wayne and Bernadine's house. However, when Grandma put Lauren down in the house, Grandma noticed one of Lauren's shoes had fallen off. We diligently had Grandma Cindy and later Grandpa Gordon found the shoe in the neighbor's yard. That would have been a desperate loss--the pink princess shoes that Lauren so much loved. Thank you Grandpa for finding them! We had fun playing and watching Veggie Tales Videos and visiting others. Uncle Nick came over and played also.
