On Sunday, we did our normal trip to Hy Vee after Mass to eat brunch. Lauren knows very well that this is the place that we get the balloons, and every time we go there she asks for one.
This Sunday, we got Lauren a pink balloon. To the best of my knowledge, we've never gotten her a pink one before. They have always been black, blue, green, or whatever. Recently though, it's become obvious to us that Lauren's favorite color is pink. She likes her pink blanket, her pink shirts, her pink pants, and she won't wear her brown shoes, she will only wear her pink shoes.
So, this time we got her a pink balloon. Lauren has not put down that balloon for one waking minute the past 4 days (it's Wednesday today), the only exception is when her brother is playing with her or she is dancing to the Baby Einstein video.
I got her out of bed Tuesday morning, and she didn't ask for anything to eat, she asked for her pink balloon. I thought of popping it and throwing it away one night. Colette advised that wouldn't be wise since she asks for it first thing every morning and after naps. She is even holding on to that pink balloon all through meals, as the photo will attest.
